directing
As a director Christine gravitates towards both the development of original solo work - largely exploring themes of identity, ideology, and faith - as well as reimagining classical work through a contemporary critical lens.
Some of her directing/devising credits include Mr. Parent by Melinda Lopez and Maurice E. Parent (Associate Director: Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park), Conflict Zone by Leahy Ardon; In Between by Ibrahim Miari; God Box by Antonia Lassar (New Repertory Theatre), Flailing into Happiness by Ryan Huemmer; Alone/Together (created as part of the Granada Artist Residency at UC Davis); Regina (Boston Opera Project); Rocks by Lydia Diamond (Boston Theatre Marathon); Sense and Sensibility, Uncle Vanya, Hamlet, Richard III, Twelfth Night, Titus Androncicus, and Julius Caesar (BU School of Theatre).

femina shakes
2011-2019
Founder and Artistic Director for Femina Shakes: an intiative born out of a need to create more, better performance opportunities for female-identifying students at BU School of Theatre. Yearly productions of Shakespeare’s plays were intentionally staged in response to this need. Though originally conceived as an all-female ensemble, Femina Shakes refined its mission to include students from across the wide spectrum of sex and gender identities to participate. Widening the vision allowed students to challenge cis-normativity, to have a place to consciously play with gender identity and expression, and to explore the intersections of gender, sex, race, class, and ability through the dynamics of power present in those plays.
